Research Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (CRDH)

The Reasearch Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (CRDH), located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, serves as a vibrant center for training, documentation, and research in various fields of international human rights law.

The CRDH is the hosting laboratory for the Master 2 in Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at the Paris-Panthéon-Assas University. This Master's programme consists of two tracks: the professional track, which succeeded the accredited DESS in 1995, and the research track, established in 2005. The CRDH extends this advanced training through individual and collective research activities, resulting in numerous publications. Many students of various nationalities pursue their doctoral theses at the CRDH.

The center regularly organizes international conferences, seminars, and lectures. Since 2000, it has been publishing an electronic journal on Fundamental Rights. With its teams of young researchers, the CRDH actively participates in international networks and leads ambitious scientific projects.

Programmes:

The Master 2 in Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at the Paris-Panthéon-Assas University offers a dual programme with both a professional branch and a research branch. It is primarily designed for law graduates who have achieved good results in their Bachelor's and Master's degrees, as well as holders of equivalent diplomas, graduates from École Normale Supérieure, students from Sciences Po, and others.

The programme emphasizes an international dimension, covering fundamental subjects such as international human rights law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, and European human rights law. Most of the instructors, including academics, have direct experience in the international arena, enabling a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical approach in both mandatory courses and optional seminars. Each year, two foreign guest professors are involved in the program.
